I have a bad back, so I am the kind of guy that hires movers for just about any heavy lifting project. When I moved out of the house of my parents when I turned twenty, I had a few boxes of stuff and my bed, and a television. Nothing that the average person would typically have a hard time handling, but I was not willing to risk injuring my back to haul the stuff by myself. So, I hired movers. I felt kind of silly hiring movers for such a small task, but when I consider the debilitating pain that straining my back causes me, I do not feel so bad. It is worth it at any price to avoid the pain that back problems give me.
You do not have to have back issues in order to hire movers, obviously, it is a popular choice for those relocating at almost any distance from their existing home. There are movers that focus their labor on in town moves that do not cover any great distances. These are movers that intend to come into a move, do the lifting and hauling, then move on to their next appointment. Long distance movers, those people have quite a job. They have to cart the stuff long distances, maybe even cross country, requiring up to days of driving and overnight stays along the way. That kind of driving, in addition to having to lift and move furniture and such, really makes that quite a difficult job in my eyes.
I think that movers are a great help when people are moving. There are so many sources of stress when you are relocating, so if you can eliminate the manual labor of moving all the personal items, furniture and sundries, then you can lessen the overall stress of the moving process by hiring movers.
