Seattle Music Tour

My high school band tried to come up with different ways to spread our name and get us playing in different places. My favorite of the ideas that we were able to come up with was a Seattle tour. I thought it would be a great idea because Seattle was not too far away from us but also a Seattle tour would get us a lot of new connections and a lot of publicity in a totally new area. We considered buying a small van for our Seattle tour and getting stuff together that summer. However the drummer of the band was opposed to the Seattle tour idea because he was behind in school and he really would not be able to keep up with the summer work that he had to do. We all tried to convince him and to help him out with his school predicament but he was in danger of failing. Slowly the Seattle tour idea began to fade away in our plans. We stopped thinking too much about it and it ended up that we never went on a Seattle tour. Although it seemed like the best thing we could have done at the time we cared too much about our drummer to let him fall behind and we could never replace him in our band. We stayed home that summer and instead worked on new songs and expanded our repertoire greatly. It was probably the best idea to just stay and create a deeper bond with the guys that I was playing music with. I learned a lot about different types of music and created beautiful connections that I still keep to this day. Seattle is still in my list for a place to visit and somehow I want to make my way down there even if I am not playing with a group or anything like that.
